Maple, Class of 1991. Anetra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Cleveland State University and a Master of Arts in Integrated Science from John Carroll University. She is a 25+ year science teacher for the Maple Heights City School District. Anetra was the recipient of the 2023 Maltz Museum Stop The Hate Teacher of the Year. She serves as a school board member for both Apex Academy and Pinnacle Academy. Anetra also mentors BIPOC pre-service teachers through Project Heart at Cleveland State University and new teachers in Maple Heights City Schools. She also owns a real estate investment company and is co-owner of an insurance agency. She is a proud alumna having attended Maple Heights City Schools K-12. Guided by Maya Angelou’s principle “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” Anetra has an unwavering commitment to help others. She feels blessed and honored to give back to the school district that ignited her passion for learning. Anetra enjoys attending worship service, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
