Maple Class of 1998. Maple Heights District 6 Councilman Richard Trojanski is a life-long resident of Maple Heights. A graduate of the Maple Heights City Schools, he proudly wears his Mustang Pride boldly. Since 2009 he has served the City of Maple Heights as District 6 Councilman, Council President, and Civil Service Commissioner. He was the first openly gay Council President elected in Ohio. Since taking office Richard has worked tirelessly for the citizens of Maple Heights to improve city services and the quality of life for residents. Richard has received numerous recognitions including from the Ohio Senate, Ohio House of Representatives, U.S. Census Bureau, Victory Institute, and Cleveland Stonewall Democrats. Richard is currently earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Service and Public Policy at Arizona State University. He was a David Bohnett Leaders Fellow for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
