Maple Class of 1977 Doug received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Miami University with majors in Accounting and Finance in 1981. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. Doug served thirty-five years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland from 1986 until his retirement in 2021. He served in a variety of capacities with the Federal Reserve starting his career as a Bank Examiner and progressing through varies roles of increasing responsibilities. As Vice President, Doug was responsible for the safety and soundness of state member banks and bank holding companies up to $10 billion in assets. He also was responsible for the consumer compliance, fair lending, and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) for all state member banks. He later became responsible for departments that collected regulatory and financial reports from banks and other depository institutions, and was responsible for providing liquidity to banking institutions (Discount Window) during the real estate crisis between 2008 through 2010. After graduating from Miami University, Doug worked for Armco Inc, an integrated steel company, as a Credit Analyst, Auditor, and Benefits Accountant in Middletown, Ohio. Doug has been very involved with his alma mater of Miami University where he currently serves as on a national fundraising committee, serves as chairman of their Black Alumni Advisory Committee, previously served as President of the Miami University Alumni Association, and hosts events for incoming students from the Cleveland area. Doug also is very active with his fraternity of Kappa Alpha Psi, where he serves as Treasurer of the Cleveland Alumni Kappa Scholarship Foundation.
